Trekking in a land of contrasts
Walking can be one of the best ways to enjoy nature. And trekking the trails of the Canary Islands one of the best ways to enjoy a landscape full of contrasts: dense forests, volcanic plains, pointed rocks, sandy dunes or places that look like a jungle.
A trip to the highest peak of the Canary Islands. Teide National Park is located in the center of the island and offers several trails, including those leading to the very top of the volcano. The high-difficulty route takes about six hours to the Altavista refuge. Don't forget appropriate clothing and footwear, food and cold drinks.
Besides the ascent to Teide, Tenerife offers dozens of trails for every fitness level. Walks through Masca canyon, trails along the Los Gigantes cliffs or peaceful excursions around Costa Adeje — everyone finds their own.
